Ovartaci exhibition at the Venice Biennale

The Venice Biennale 2022 is very successful with an extremely high level and an excellent choice of theme “The Milk of Dreams”. The title originates from the British/Mexican surreal artist Leonora Carrington (1917-2011).

The exhibition in the Central Pavilion is curated by Cecilia Aleman (Italy) and 213 primarily female artists are represented. Some are outsiders others forgotten or unknown, a strong platform at the Biennale. In addition to the Central Pavilion 80 national pavilions show own exhibitions.

Ovartaci’s works are shown in the Central Pavilion. The exhibition is created in an intimate room with dark blue walls with lights on the works. Visitors come from all over the World and are drawn into Ovartaci’s universe.

During the pre-opening, the Danish Minister for Culture Ane-Halsboe-Jørgensen visited the Danish Pavilion and was guided through the Ovartaci exhibition by Mia Lejsted, museum director.

We are still overwhelmed by the positive response and praise generated by the exhibition. Several international newspapers, magazines and online art platforms have covered Ovartaci and the exhibition and have clearly highlighted the importance of his work both as an artist and for the theme of the times and the Biennale.

The Ovartaci exhibition at the Venice Biennale is shown until 27 November 2022.
