A BEAUTIFUL OVARTACI WORK IS RETURNING HOME

Thanks to financial assistance from the Inge og Asker Larsens Fond, the Museum has ensured that a beautiful work by Ovartaci – a so-called smoking phantom – will be preserved for posterity as part of the Museum collection.

At the Museum we are very happy with the new addition to the collection, which we are looking forward to showing to our guests when the Museum reopens in the spring of 2023.

In all its simplicity, this beautiful smoking phantom shows a woman with two faces which look into the future and back to the past at the same time. There is a very special simplicity about the work and a unique material and colour composition.

UNIQUE TALK ABOUT OVARTACI & THE VENICE BIENNALE BY ART HISTORIAN PETER KÆR

BEAUTIFUL MUSEUM GARDEN ON THE WAY

In the centre of the Museum the new atrium will create a reflexive oasis that will connect the exhibitions as well as unite the future and the past with the present. The work of creating the framework for a social area in the middle of the Museum is in progress, and right now the laying of the beautiful tiles is almost complete.

The garden has been designed by the artist Albert Grøndahl in collaboration with the Museum. The project was supported financially by the Statens Kunstfond.
