Óscar Morales Martínez at Museum Ovartaci – Opening June 4
On June 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM, Museum Ovartaci opens a solo exhibition by Chilean artist Óscar Morales Martínez. The exhibition ‘El trazo que sostiene el mundo’ (The Line That Sustains the World) will be on view until October 18.
Morales Martínez (b. 1951) is a significant figure within Latin American Art Brut. His artistic practice developed during a long stay in a psychiatric hospital in Santiago, where drawing became a vital tool for creating meaning and coherence.
The exhibition brings together works from several periods and presents a distinctive visual universe of symbolic figures, architectural fantasies, and the artist’s unique visual language. It also includes his “machine series” and selected texts offering insight into his artistic thinking.
The opening on June 4 marks the beginning of an exhibition that highlights the power of art in the intersection between humanity, care, and creativity.

Experience Museum Ovartaci Through Guided Tours
At Museum Ovartaci, we offer a variety of guided tours that bring visitors closer to both the art and the stories behind it. Whether you prefer a classic introduction or a more sensory experience, we have options that invite reflection and new perspectives.
Our open tours provide a vivid introduction to selected works and stories from the museum’s collection. Our guides take you through Ovartaci’s life, artistic practice, and time as a patient at the Psychiatric Hospital in Risskov—offering reflections on identity and the human condition.
With Food & Museum, we invite you to an atmospheric evening combining art and community around a shared meal. After approximately one hour of guided touring, a warm dish of the day and a glass of wine are served, followed by time to explore the museum at your own pace.
For early risers, Brunch & Art offers a calm and sensory start to the day with brunch followed by a guided tour. Here, aesthetics and storytelling merge into a holistic experience with room for reflection—and time afterward to explore the exhibitions independently.
All tours share a focus on engaging storytelling and dialogue, opening up Ovartaci’s complex universe. We look forward to welcoming you to an experience where art, history, and human stories meet.
