Lone Pedersen grew up in west Jutland and now lives in Odder. She has a degree in drawing and graphics from Kolding Kunsthåndværker Skole which she attended between 1984 and 1988. Lone Pedersen was also an apprentice to the painter Jonna Sejg and in 1990-1997 she was connected to Odder Art museum as an artist and designer. Since 1982, she has exhibited her works in a variety of galleries and museums.

Lone Pedersen has from time to time had her own workshop here at the hospital. In 1982 she made the gift that was presented to the Queen when she visited the museum for its 150th anniversary.

Lone Pedersen is a very versatile artist and is represented here at Museum Ovartaci in a variety of media:

Gargoyles.
As Lone Pedersen expresses it “keep the devil away” Gargoyles were, in ancient times placed on rooves as scary images of the devil himself, intended to scare him off if he should happen to pass by.

Jumping Jacks
These express Lone Pedersen’s inner feeling of receiving relentless bills by mail. The feeling of not wanting them but being confronted with the reality of life, that there are things we have to take responsibility for.

Carousel.
Lone Pedersen describes it as the wheel of life, the life we all get a spin in. Looking closer at the carousel, we see numerous symbolic details, for example the lion stands for strength, the dove for hope and the snake symbolizes the possibility for choosing.

Rarity Cabinet.
Lone Pedersen describes the pieces in the cabinets as a collection of rarities and oddities.
