In Dianna Stokholm’s paintings we are immediately taken on a journey into colour, fantasy and movement.
A common topic in her paintings is how light and darkness meet and how strong colours break free from that meeting. It is her play with these strong colours that grabs us. It is as if the colours gush forth towards us, out of the dark as a well of life and movement. A movement also illustrated in the way the colour in places almost vibrate.
This dynamic is further accentuated in the energetic movements shown in the figures in her paintings.
