Michael Hoegholm was born in 1953. According to Michael his mental disorder was his prime reason to choose painting as his way of expressing himself – he discovered that when his words fell short, he could express himself through his pictures.
In the beginning his paintings were sinister and eerie. Later on his palette turned brighter and more vivid, and he produced a fine, strong combination of colour and subject.
It seems that for extensive periods of time he has not had the resources or the strength to continue his very talented work.
