In spite of his premature death, Jan Nedergaard was a recognized artist, who participated in several major exhibitions. Jan’s paintings contain many symbols, often characterized by his preoccupation with religion and cosmology. Jan – like many other patients, it goes without saying – disliked the hospital, but being offered the opportunity of painting in a studio at the hospital grounds changed his mind completely.
