A new version of the musician

“If you know what you want, there’s no reason to do it”, according to singer, musician and artist Lars H.U.G while setting the frame for his upcoming exhibition at Museum Ovartaci.

From 13 June the singer and musician shows that he is much more than what he is best known for, when exhibiting his paintings titled “365 DAYS IN A BAG – Uncertainty as a driving force · Release the line”. The exhibition is shown until 14 September 2025.

An exciting and interactive exhibition is planned when Museum Ovartaci and Lars H.U.G. in close collaboration invite you inside the artist’s space.

The opening of the exhibition is 13 June from 15-17, and everyone is welcome.

Summer activities

Do you have a child in 2. to 4. grade who is crazy about making quirky sculptures and love painting and who lives in Aarhus Municipality?
Perhaps our Summer activities might interest you. We create experimenting art and work with recycling.

We will be indoors and outside and making interesting, crazy and quirky works. On the last day, your family is invited to the opening of the small exhibition showing your creative art works.

Summer activities are held from Tuesday 1 July until 3 July at 10-14.

Registration opens on Tuesday 10 June at 9. You can register your child for this year's Summer Activities by sending an email to boern@ovartaci.dk

Guided tours of the Museum

Every Thursday during the summer you can get close to the house painter from Ebeltoft and learn more about why he became a patient at the Psychiatric Hospital. During the summer, Museum Ovartaci offers guided tours, where you can participate as an individual or in a small group (less than 10 people).

On the tour you will gain insight into how Ovartaci's art still enriches us with important insights and realizations today. And furthermore, you will learn about the thoughts behind the construction of the characteristic buildings in Risskov that housed the Psychiatric Hospital for more than 160 years.

Guided tours:

3. July at 13-14

10 July at 13-14

17 July at 13-14

24 July at 13-14

31 July at 13-14

7. August at 13-14

Our skilled guides are ready to take you on a guided tour of the museum's permanent exhibitions. The tour lasts 45-60 minutes, and we recommend that you set aside time to immerse yourself in the exhibition afterwards.

There are 20 places for the tour, which are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
